As a response to this piece of writing by Tom Morton and the situation I find myself in as a new graduate, my proposal is to create a series of drawings of imagined characters. Created through a drawing process combining reactions to the text and thoughts of what if. An amalgamation of both human/plant characteristics and abstract elements could make up the bodies of my design. An avatar? Or just an exploration of the freedom to imagine and create whatever I wish.

Using the body as a point of departure and fed by the intriguing quote from the text, ‘Do you have antennae? Do you wish you had a tail?’. I hope the drawing will investigate the idea of the body as the first encounter of the outside world and an indicator of experience.

The medium I intend to use is ink, coloured pencil, maybe graphite on drafting film. I would like to do a series of three drawings at 456mm x 607mm.
