“What is a good temple, does it need walls?”

This question prompt my thinking as to what constitutes as “good” in the environment of worship? Oddly enough it had me thinking of road side memorials, the brick permanent reminders scattered along roads I came across while travelling, and the more temporary arrangements of flowers tied to a lamppost seen in here.

The way death is recorded- the very spot commemorated- the dead flowers and deflated balloon. This marking of death is only really apparent to road accidence. I often think what this act of decorating the spot of death is for: is it for those grieving, a spot of contemplation before the grave? Is it to inform the community of the desisted or to act as a warning? I am unsure.
